Health is something that when you have it, you don't think much about it. But once you lose it, you can feel its burden on everything...from your physical health to your relationships...
because ill health.
So make no mistake, the pre-requisite to having a good life is health, not wealth in monetary sense. Only with good health will you be able to enjoy life's good things to its fullest, down to the simplest. And if you can find joy in the simplest of things, you're rich beyond measure.
The World values talent but ultimately rewards character because your character reflects your philosophy, and your philosophy will manifest your reality. The quality of your life depends largely on your character/ philosophy.
If you believe in cause and effect, you believe in karma (well, sort of). It's perplexing how it happens but just like a boomerang, it comes back. You reap what you sow. So do yourself a favour - cultivate a good character in you.
If you think others are being shallow for judging people based on how they look, it's you who need to think beyond skin-deep. Because how you look outside reflects how you think inside --- do you value your health and body enough to want to take good care of it and feel good in it? Do you respect others and yourself enough to want to look good and even your best? Do you have the self-awareness and knowledge to portray an accurate version of yourself?
It's not about having the perfect body or donning yourself in premium brands. It's about self-knowledge and -love, and respect for yourself and others.
Your skills & knowledge
Formal education will earn you a living. Self education will earn you profits. - Jim Rohn
Be a lifelong holistic learner. Learn for mastery. Learn to become more well-rounded and well-informed so you become a wiser and sophisticated thinker.
So it makes you smarter. So you make better decisions. So it gives you things to talk to people and grants you access to people of various backgrounds. So it opens up opportunities.
Your time, money, talent & energy
Each time you say 'yes' to something, you are saying 'no' to something else. So be very careful where you say 'yes' to putting your money in; who and what you say 'yes' to spending your time with and on; what you expend your energy on - is it on something productive or counter-productive? Where and what you're using your talent on - is it where you can make the most difference and where it gives you the most happiness?
The best investment you will ever make is yourself.
